On the RadioBeing a photographer and doing radio are the most fun I can have with my clothes on.
I've been involved in radio for more than 20 years, writing scripts, doing journalism, doing my own sections in talk-radio programs, as a promoter of Spanish-spoken rock music and as the coordinator and co-anchor of our own talk-radio show, devoted to the divulgation of science, knowledge and critical thought, for which the three co-presenters received the National Journalism Award granted by the Journalists Club of Mexico in 1997. I don't mean to brag, but I'm certainly proud.
I left Mexico and came to Spain, radio was not easy to get in, so I was out of the air for almost 9 years. But now I'm back with a 40-minute segment on science and knowledge every Thursday in a program called "Radiolandia", broadcast by the radio station of the Principality of Asturias. A small station in a small part of Spain, but I don't mind, since thanks to the Internet I can reach anyone who would care to listen.
Of course, the broadcasts are in Spanish, they can be listened live 11:40-12:30 (European Standard Time) on Thursdays at

The "Me By Me" female selfportrait contest is coming!
I'll be launching the female self-portrait contest in earnest the first two weeks in June. Be forewarned that all entries must be uploaded to DA after June 1st so if you have a photo that you wish to enter the contest, hold it until then
Secondly: We need prizes. I will be offering prints of my photos and the featuring in this journal, but we need more motivational prizes: featuring in journals for a set time, subscriptions, dinner invitations, you name it, but help along so more and more Deviantas will feel moved to participate with their images. Please note me or comment what you can do to promote creative and original self-portraits. Suggestions also welcome.
Latest selfpics in my fave list.So to warm up our motors for the contest... here are a few of my more recent faved self-portraits. I repeat my previous comments on selfpics: "What I really care about is looking at images where women tell me their stories, where they say 'this is how I am, this is who I am, this is how I see myself, this is the person I want you to see'" because it teaches me new and wondrous ways to look at women and photograph them.
A photograph is a meeting place where the interests of the photographer, the photographed, the viewer, and those who are using the photographs are often contradictory. These contradictions both hide and increase the natural ambiguity of the photographic image.
